I always thought that the Battlestars would make a good addition to the ST universe. What if the Federation had come across alien races that weren't so peacefully inclined.

Personally I'd say knock out those horizontal supports along the centre line. One of the cool things about the flight pods for me was the way the 'hung' from the arched support arms. :) Also I think it would give it that 'flimsy but sturdy' pylon look most starfleet ships have.

I also like that style, but I'm trying to think like a Starfleet engineer..it still has the "hangin" look from above, but the added struts horizontally add support because of the "flimsy" pylon styling.

Perhaps beef them up a little? I dunno I just think it would add to the model if they hung down like that :)

You will.. slow process building and redesigning to make sure I stay true to the Galactica while making it appear as though Starfleet built.
